The civil Protection services within the Regional Directorate of Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer have, thus, mobilized for this operation five zodiacs, masters swimmers and jet skis, an ambulance, in addition to 50 elements of its services.
For their part, the services of the royal canadian mounted police have also mobilized a large number and two helicopters, in addition to the members of the auxiliary Forces.
According to local authorities, the victims are part of a group of 46 members of a sports association of the province of Ben Slimane, in the majority of children aged 12 to 17 years, who were participating in a field trip to this region.
The Interior minister, Mohamed Hassad, was made Sunday on site to oversee the operations of search and rescue, on the instructions of King Mohammed VI. An investigation has been opened into the incident under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office.
